highlight; dungeons, staterooms, exhibitions and fabulous views from the top of
the battlements. We will also visit AN TOBAR, which is The Tobermory Arts
Centre, showcasing the best in live music and contemporary visual arts and crafts
from Scotland and beyond, with a regular concert and exhibition programme, and
great cafe overlooking Tobermory bay. After dinner, the evening will be filled
with music and dance.
Day 5 – Isle of Iona – Monday, September 20th
Today we will take the ferry over to the nearby island of Iona. You will have the
day to explore the island on your own. Iona is a small island, barely three miles
long and a little over a mile wide but one with very important ties to Christianity.
The island is small enough to explore on foot but you may want to rent one of the
mountain bikes they offer. You won’t want to miss the Abbey, which dates back
to around 1200 or St. Columba’s Shrine. You may also want to explore the white
sandy beaches with their colorful pebbles. We will have dinner together back at
our hotel on the Isle of Mull.
Day 6 – Isle of Skye – Tuesday, September 21st

to the Isle of Skye which is situated off the west coast of Scotland and the largest
of the Inner Hebrides Islands. After arriving we will check into our hotel and you
will have the rest of the day to explore on your own before gathering together for
dinner at the hotel. Skye is known for its natural beauty and history and wildlife
abounds on the island. From beautiful mountains to the deeply indented
coastline, you will want to be sure to have your camera handy. As you travel

language of the area. Gaelic culture and heritage are still a part of the atmosphere
of the island.

evening.

whisky distilleries; Glen Grant, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas and Cardhu are
among the famous. We will return back to Inverness for dinner together at our
hotel.
Day 10 – Edinburgh – Saturday, September 25th

Day 11 – Lindisfarne(Holy Island) – Sunday, September 26th
Today will be a very special day as we make a pilgrimage over to Lindisfarne
(Holy Island) which is situated off the coast of Northumberland, England.
Lindisfarne is a tidal island linked to the mainland by a causeway. It is one of the
most important centres of early Christianity in Anglo-Saxon England and today
people come from around the world to experience its tranquil and spiritual
surroundings. St. Aidan and his monks came from the Irish monastery of Iona
and founded the monastery in AD 635. We will be visiting the Priory and Castle in
addition to other local sites. We will return to our hotel in Edinburgh in time for
dinner.
